Firefly Lane, The End

Hello, My Movievaures! I hope you had a great week. Mine was intense, but not as much as Firefly Lane’s ending… I couldn’t stop sobbing throughout episode 16 and when I think about it, I’m still moved. I am maybe a bit sentimental, but I genuinely believe this beautiful story deserves some awareness. Of course, this is a second-season review so spoiler ahead!

I already wrote an article on season 1 that you can check out here. This season, we follow Kate and Tully after their big fight almost destroying their legendary friendship. I said almost, as those two cannot live without each other and unfortunately, some tragic news will bring them back together.

I will say, it was a bold move to end their story like that, but in a way, it is also realistically tragic. Seeing Kate wither away little by little, but trying to enjoy every minute of her loved ones is overwhelming, but powerful and sends the right message: nothing is forever, only the now is fundamental.

I have always loved this show because the main story is about two girlfriends, that managed to nourish and keep their friendship despite all the obstacles they encountered. And that is a powerful message. Of course, you sometimes have the feeling that there is some kind of magic behind their connexion, but you also see the dedication behind it, to love and accept your friend as he is.

In short, if you love drama if you enjoy some goofy fun, and wish there were more stories around women’s friendship and not about catfights, Firefly Lane is a show for you. However, you’ve been warned, prepare your tissues, because season 2 will leave you tear-dried. This is all for today my Movievaures! Let me know in the comments, your thoughts on this article and I’ll see you next week for a new article!
