Hello, My Movievaures! I hope you had an amazing week. Recently, I’ve been drowning in work and I truly needed a  good and fun entertainment to get me going. You couldn’t believe my surprise when I found myself having a great time watching Murder Mystery 1 & 2 . But you know the drill, let’s get to the non spoiler part:

Nick and Audrey Spitz are in a plane to Europe with the need to reinvigorate the spark in their marriage. Seeking for adventure, they will find themselves involved in the mysterious murder of an elderly millionaire. Luckily for them, Nick’s detective skills and Audrey’s passion for mystery books will come on hand to unravel this conundrum.

When I first saw the trailer I was completely indifferent. It seemed like another bad Netflix movie with no originality. It took more than a year and a good friend to convince me to watch it and he was right: both movies are truly amusing. What I enjoyed the most is the fact that it doesn’t try to be what it is not. It goes straight to rough humour and straight forward jokes.

I loved Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston as this typical and stereotypical American couple, shameless. The fact that they are aware everything that happens is unbelievable,  but at the same time they enjoy it as it was a movie they were watching is hilarious. All the clichés can be found here, on the poor, rich, Americans, British, etc… More than obvious, but never too much to be annoyed.

In short, Murder Mystery is an hilarious comedy that is worth watching even if it doesn’t look like it. Don’t get me wrong, there are not great and profound movies, but as stated before, they don’t try to be and so you can enjoy every minute of it without any complex.
