The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan

Hello, My Movievaures! I hope you had a great week. In just a couple of hours, I’ll be boarding a plane for an entire week of training. But I couldn’t leave without sharing my thoughts on the latest adventure movie: The Three Musketeer: D’Artagnan. I’m proud to say this is a French movie, that, I’m pretty sure can be exported easily in other countries. You know the drill now, let’s get to the non-spoilers part:

Who hasn’t heard about The Three musketeers from Alexandre Dumas? Based on the same story, we follow D’Artagnan, a young provincial man on the road to Paris as he dreams to become a King’s Musketeer. In his path, he will meet with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, the famous three musketeers and he will find himself in the middle of a plot that involves the great names of French royalty.

When I first saw the trailer, I was quite excited. I was long seeking for a good adventure, and I wondered: was this going to be one? Later on, I heard some bad comments about it, saying it was naive and goofy. It didn’t kept me from buying a ticket as soon as I could and get an opinion by myself. Well, I completely disagree: The Three Musketeers, Part I is a good adventure movie. Indeed, the plot is quite simplistic and the dialogues a bit cheeky, but it doesn’t reflect the negative reviews I saw. Not everything needs to be a critic, or a drama.

Not every single experience needs to be of sorrow and sadness. Sometimes, you need some epicness, and heroic character to lift your spirit. This is what The Three Musketeers does for us. It tells a story that makes us believe in honors and friendship. In how those who fight for what is right don’t always get crushed by the skeptical, and power seekers. The groups friendship is believable even if it could feel a bit rushed and the overall story worlds, at least in my humble opinion.

In short, my answer is yes, this is the adventure I was seeking. I enjoyed every minute of it and believe that for once you just need to sit down, relax and enjoy the ride. Indeed, I do agree the ending is a bit annoying, but at least it was announced from the beginning: there will be there movies. This is all for today My Movievaures! Let me know in the comments below, your thoughts and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for more news and live reactions! I’ll see you next week!
