Amsterdam

Hello, My Movievaures! I hope you had a great week. Lately, I had the opportunity to go to Vegas which means multiple hours of flights and so a huge amount of time spent on watching movies. I was really happy when I saw that Amsterdam was available on the catalog and I actually wanted to watch it for a long while. So, let’s get to it. But first, let’s get to the non-spoilers section:

The horros of world war one will bring together two soldiers and one nurse that will make a pact to keep their friendship and always have their back. This will come in handy when two of them become suspects of a murder they witnessed, so they’ll need to stick up together to unravel this mystery and save themselves.

Let me tell you something, this movie is all about the cast. Yes, quite harsh saying it like that, but it didn’t met my expectations for sure. Of course, Christian Bale, John David Washington and Margot Robbie as the leads are great. Their acting is always astonishing and I tend to believe their frienship and dynamic in the movie.

None of the less, I got quite bored from the beginning. The plot, quite consisting, didn’t really transcend the usual mystery basic storyline. And everything around the nazi plot seemed quite rushed and a bit ridiculous to be honest. Without saying how weird most of the dialogues seemed to be, like trying to make too much intelectual.

In short, this movie is not as good as the cast makes you believe. It is not the worst movie ever of course, but it was so uninteresting to me. Especially when you need to fill 10 hours of travel! This is all for today My Movievaures! Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below or on Instagram. Next week, I’ll be back with a 2023 TV Show (I know: FINALLY)! Have a great week!
