Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Hello, My Movievaures! I’m back with a new 2022 movie review: Glass Onion. I haven’t had the chance to write about the 2023 latest content, but don’t worry I’m preparing some nice articles. None of the less, I couldn’t move forward without talking about Glass Onion, the second opus of Knives Out released in 2019. So, you know the drill, let’s get to the non-spoilers section:

Benoit Blanc is back for a new mystery with its own set of surprises! Set on a private Greek Island, Blanc will meet an eclectic group of friends who reunite each year around Tech billionaire Miles Bron. As he encounters strange relationships and shady personalities, he will need to utilize all of his talents to unravel a plot that could harm more than just one victim.

To be transparent, I actually watched Knives Out and Glass Onion back to back, which actually allowed me to compare both films. My opinion: two compelling stories, both with amazing plots, and persuasive acting, but except for the genre and Mr. Blanc both are completely different movies. So, that aside, let’s get focus on Glass Onion.

This movie is impressively captivating. At some point, you feel like you understand what’s happening, even though you need more pieces to the puzzle to fully solve the mystery. BUT THEN! Wow, a huge plot twist that changes everything and makes it all more interesting, which is quite hard! I loved the twin sisters’ story and how it makes you care for someone you actually never met.

The other characters’ motives and backgrounds are as stereotypical as they are fun and dramatic. Each dialogue is full of references and clichés about some of the wealthiest, most influential people in our modern world. This is not only a mystery, but it is also surprisingly entertaining with great scenes that leave you speechless.

In short, Glass Onion is not just a second great movie, it is an amazing story in itself. It is creative, with great setting ideas, kind to the eye, and what every mystery movie needs: a great plot twist and compelling characters! This is all for today, I hope you enjoyed this article! Let me know in the comments down below or on Instagram your thoughts on this movie. I’ll be back next week! I hope you’ll have a great week with new adventures and the best popcorn ever!
