Hello, My Movievaures! I hope you had an amazing week. I’m back with a new Netflix movie: Luckiest Girl Alive. Let me be clear, I would have never watched this movie if it wasn’t for Mila Kunis. Not that it didn’t seem interesting, but as you may know by now I’m a bit tired of Netflix constantly releasing new movies that are uninteresting or even worse, clearly bad. So, which category this movie fits into? Well… let’s get to the non-spoilers part first:

Mila Kunis is Ani FaNelli, a quite successful writer living her dream life in New York. Fiancé to a rich businessman, progressing in her career, planning her wedding, and obsessing to maintain her beautiful appearance, she seems to have it all. However, when a true-crime documentary director reaches out to her, to have her side of the story about a tragedy happening in her past, while she was a teenager everything seems to crumble.

Let’s get to the point: this movie is completely forgettable. Is not awful, but it has many issues and clearly nothing that will actually transcend the mystery genre. We are all getting used to these types of movies being released by Netflix; those which are based on a book that had quite a success so obviously there will be people to watch it. I haven’t read the book honestly, so I don’t know if the story is better told or from starters it was

Mila Kunis and the other actors were okay, but that’s all. I don’t think either the character or the plot was good enough to see them at their full acting potential. I’m not saying the topics of this movie are not interesting, they completely are but once again Netflix has just created a bland piece of content to add to its gigantic catalog, without considering its quality.
In short, nothing to see here that hasn’t already watched a mystery movie. If you have nothing to watch but still want the background noise, you could give it a try but seriously do not expect anything at all from the Luckiest girl alive. This is all for today My Movievaures! As usual, let me know in the comments down below your thoughts on this movie, and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for more news (the_movievaures). See you next week!
