Hello, My Movievaures! I hope you had a great week. I’m back with a new article on the latest Marvel show: Ms. Marvel. I only did my duty when I decided to watch it because I had no interest whatsoever in this storyline. It seemed to me, to be one of those goofy TV shows for young teenagers and I had already given too much time to that genre. So was it as bad as I expected? Well, let’s get into it. But first, the nonspoilers part, of course:

We follow Kamala Khan, a young American girl with a Pakistani background who is a huge fan of superheroes and especially of Captain Marvel. She often zones out from the real world to escape into her obsession and feels like she doesn’t fit anywhere. She is not very popular at school and she often disappoints her parents. But one day, she founds herself in the shoes of her heroes by getting superpowers herself, projecting her into her family’s past with many more serious implications than expected.

As you can see this is a pretty common plot. The most original part of all this is the fact that Kamala and her family are Muslims and I think this is the first time we actually see this on Marvel content. None of the less, the rest is pretty usual, and even though the actors are not too bad and the characters are a bit endearing overall it was pretty boring. You almost could guess every episode and there was never some sort of tension. We all knew nothing was going to happen to the main characters.

I will not get into the CGI details because I know a show cannot be as good as a movie and it wasn’t that bad. The dialogues were quite awful and the baddies were so not dangerous. I will say the background story of Kamala’s great grandmother was pretty good and the best episode was the one in Pakistan for sure, but it wasn’t enough to save the day. The only addition to the Marvel universe was, the introduction to the X-MEN gene at the end of the season, which I will admit I’m quite excited about!

Well, this is all for today My Movievaures! Let me know in the comments down below your thoughts on this show and if it was up to your expectations. I’ll be back next week for a new article, but in the meantime don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for more news and live reactions! See you soon!
