Hello, My Movievaures!
I know, it has been a long time since the last time I’ve written something, but times are crazy right now. And is it me or is it getting crazier out there?
Did you get the reference? Of course, I’m talking about the Joker! I’ve just seen it this weekend and let me tell you, this is absolutely one of the best movies I’ve ever had the chance to see.
I’m not saying this because is mainstream and that everyone is saying the same thing. You know me quite well to know that even if a movie is liked by the majority if I think is terrible I will be completely sincere in my articles. On the contrary, I will not say a movie is disappointing just because everyone says is really good and I want to sound “different” and more exotic.
That is why I will tell you, I absolutely agree with critics on The Joker. Everything amazed me: the story, the script, the picture, the music, and the acting. Especially the acting as most of the movie is based on Joaquin Phoenix’s performance. There has been a lot of different movies about mental illness and psychological trauma, but mixing this amazing story with this depiction of decay was just the perfect combo.
This movie is also for everyone. The target is not just Batman’s fans, but everyone who wants to know more about how society can turn a broken heart into a maniac. However, don’t get me wrong, I know all the controversy around this film. Of course, it is violent, not only visually with the fight scenes, but also mentally with all the psychological abused Arthur (AKA The Joker) suffers. I do not agree with some critics saying that it glorifies violence. Because it doesn’t. In my opinion, it shows how feeling lonely and abandoned, in addition to all the violence some people live day to day as victims can lead you to this tragic end of being the hangman.
It is not an excuse, it is an explanation. A description of today’s society, and that we should not think that our bad actions cannot have consequences. Nevertheless, is not just a psychological movie. It is also another approach to Joker’s story. So many references to Batman’s origins and it’s linked to Arthur’s becoming the Joker are made throughout the whole movie. As a fan, you can only be thrilled by it and the most perfect part is that it was not done vulgarly, but with an attention to detail unreliable.
So, do you really need to see this movie? Absolutely YES! This will be the best 2 hours spent in Theatres for years. Of course, if you really hate violence, this movie is not for you at all. However, if you want to see another side to The Joker’s story and also want to watch an amazing performance and a great scenario, just buy your ticket now!
That is all for today My Movievaures. If you have seen the movie, let me know if you agree with me in the comments below. See you soon for another Movie review.
